I longed to live out God’s purpose for my life, and that desire led me down a path of unconventional choices. I boarded a plane into the unknown, with my heart tugging in different directions. I was fulfilling a promise, but I was also leaving behind comfort, familiarity, and two of the people I loved most—my eldest brothers, who had cared for me since my teenage years.
I was twenty-two, stubborn about doing “the right thing,” yet completely unaware of the twists and turns that would shape the next decade of my life. I didn’t know then that God would use that season of uncertainty to prepare me for everything I’m living today.
Nearly ten years later, I wake up every morning filled with joy, grateful for the family I prayed for and the purpose-filled work that lights my soul. But none of it came quickly or easily. It took obedience, waiting, and trust through the in-between.
Finding Your Purpose
God’s purpose for your life isn’t some hidden treasure at the end of a rainbow. It’s not a mystery to solve or a map to follow until you “find yourself.”God’s purpose is a path you walk by faith.
It becomes clearer not by striving, but by seeking Him. It’s found in worshiping Jesus with your everyday life, listening to His voice above your own ideas, and surrendering even when it doesn’t make sense.
Sometimes, we miss it because we don’t realize that the process is part of the purpose. And it’s not a one-time thing. It happens in waves, over and over again, through each new season. That’s why learning to enjoy the process matters so much.
Life isn’t static—and neither is growth. The more we learn to embrace the space between one blessing and the next, the more we develop the skillset and spiritual maturity we need for what’s ahead.
Remember: purpose isn’t a job title or a season. It’s the presence of obedience and the impact of your life—right where you are.
Signs You’re Walking in God’s Purpose
- You’re growing in love, humility, and wisdom. With God, growth is the goal.
- You’re using your gifts to serve others, not just yourself. Pay attention to this.
- You seek God’s voice before chasing platforms or popularity.
- You obey even when it’s inconvenient, unseen, or misunderstood.
- You feel stretched and challenged in ways that pull you closer to Him.
Here’s a challenge
Ask God, “Where can I be faithful today?”
Don’t chase a destination. Instead, walk daily with the One who designed your journey.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” –Ephesians 2:10
