making decisions repercussions choices

Decisions

From the moment we wake up to the moment we go to bed we are constantly making decisions. Throughout our lifetime we make multiple decisions; from the clothes we wear to the career we pursue.  All decisions affect our life one way or another. However, there are decisions that can have eternal repercussions.

I love going to the Bible every time I need to make a decision. In fact, there are two Bible characters that have a helped me out when it comes to making choices, Peter and Judas. They both walked with Jesus as His disciples, and they both “let Him down”. However, they each decided to take on completely different paths.

Peter repented, he asked for forgiveness and re-dedicated his life to Jesus.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. “

1 John 1:9 NIV

On the other hand, after betraying Jesus, Judas did not repent, and he ended up committing suicide. I am sure that if Judas would have repented, Jesus would have forgiven him. God gives us everything, but He loves us so much that in the end the final decision is in our hands. Read His word, pray and listen to His voice to take the best decision. He always wants the best for us, whether we realize it or not.

Are you facing a big decision today? Are you unsure of which path to take? The best choice you can make today is to place all your decisions in God’s hands. Commit your plans to Him; whether big or small, He cares.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV
